Preparation has begun for Temple Lifts’ Service Managers Chris Hattley and Martin Murrihy, who are gearing up for Demelza Hospice Care for Children’s 101 event – Sittingbourne to Amsterdam Cycle Ride 2016. Spanning over four days in April, the arduous bike ride will take them through 350 miles of challenging terrain, passing through Calais, Bruges and Breda until they reach the finish line in Amsterdam.

This isn’t the first time Chris and Martin have taken to the saddle to raise money for Demelza; back in April 2014, they tackled the 54 mile long London to Brighton bike ride, raising £400. However, the Sittingbourne to Amsterdam ride is sure to be their toughest yet.

Recently on the 3rd of October, Chris held a charity evening for Demelza, which involved a raffle and auction made up of generous donations from friends. The evening was a fantastic success, with Chris raising just over £1400 through sponsorship, the auction and the raffle for Demelza.

Martin will also be holding his charity evening next February.

Temple Lifts wish them both the very best of luck!
